Westminster College seeks a dynamic, creative leader with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion to lead its marketing and communications efforts. It is an exciting time for Westminster, including record enrollments, a new fundraising campaign, and strategic plan that will spawn a variety of bold new initiatives, including a new campus in Mesa, AZ. The Executive Director will have hands-on responsibility for promoting the Westminster brand to both internal and external audiences. She or he must be prepared to formulate, implement, execute and sustain plans for earned media, social media, grassroots campaigns, and advertising of the unique and compelling elements of a Westminster education. This person will supervise three full-time marketing and communications professionals, work collaboratively with many campus constituencies, work as a liaison with the Board of Trustees Marketing Committee, and communicate directly with the President to ensure he is able to articulate and support their efforts. The position is supervised by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, who also oversees Development, Advancement Services, and Alumni Relations & Event Management.
• At least five years of demonstrated ability and passion for marketing, preferably in higher education
• Demonstrated success with institutional marketing and brand building, including specific work examples
• Strong writing skills for print, web, and video production
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to be persuasive
• Ability to multi-task and be deadline-oriented
• Experience in supervision, budget management, and prioritization
• Bachelors degree in Marketing or another field if experience in marketing is significant, Masters degree preferred
