Job Description:

The Internship Coordinator reports to the Director of Internships and Career Advancement, and works alongside the Learn and Earn Coordinator to increase community awareness and student participation in a full range of internship opportunities:  academic program, Learn and Earn, STEM and non-credit career development internships.  This role actively oversees the development, delivery, marketing, and management of the College's credit-bearing academic program internships, providing a centralized faculty coordination and student support function for eleven departments across the Professional Studies and the Engineering and Health Sciences Divisions.  A full support cycle includes faculty outreach, employer relations, internship placement, student preparation, student and employer evaluations, internship paperwork/legal agreements, and report management. This role also engages actively with the Learn and Earn team to broaden student outreach, career readiness programming, and support student coaching, referrals, placement follow-up, and employer engagement.  Additional responsibilities are to collaborate with the Director, career, employer relations, international student, STEM and Life map staff, as well as faculty and grant personnel, to develop enhanced student and employer internship pipelines and placements for growth areas in the College.

  • Expand development of strategic academic-related and paid internship opportunities
  • Initiate employer contacts and support team-wide relationship development activities and program planning
  • Actively participate in implementation of new Intern/Coop module on our Career Connect job management system, as well as enhanced customization and development of reporting and student tracking features
  • Regularly monitor internship postings and promote circulation of hot internships to relevant student populations
  • Advise and prepare students via group workshops, individual meetings, classroom visits, online technologies, mock interviews, and new workshop designs
  • Partner with faculty to manage academic program consistency, coordinate professional development opportunities, and be seen as a 'resident expert' on current internship hiring and experiential education best practices
  • Manage policies and proactively administer processes for student internship eligibility, recruitment, placement and course enrollment
  • Maintain and manage all College documentation for credit-bearing internships in accordance with state and federal legal regulations
  • Maintain and manage student and employer evaluation instrument collection & analysis; conduct site visits as necessary
  • Maintain an efficient, accurate record-keeping system of screened job leads, applicants and student placement statistics; produce executive summaries and annual reports
  • Actively support Learn and Earn student referrals, pipeline development, preparation, coaching, and events, particularly in peak recruiting cycles
  • Help facilitate two annual Career and Internship Fairs, as well as recruiting on-campus, industry panels, networking events, or guest speakers.
  • Maintain updated website content for academic program, STEM, and career development intern programs; Contribute to the development of student-centered marketing materials, social media, web enhancements, student spotlight testimonials, and other innovative ways to raise visibility
  • Participate in continued integration of new technologies including Career Connect, Career Spots, Interview Stream, and Strengths to be infused in internship readiness activities and inspire the collective Career Planning offerings of our career and Life map teams as well as faculty in the classroom
  • Keep current on industry trends for target programs and collaborate with faculty, career, and grant staff in closing workforce gaps
  • Collaborate with career team on initiatives to leverage BHCC alumni base in support of expanded career opportunities
  • Master's degree in Business, Human Resources, Counseling, Education or closely related field; with (6) years of experience and/or training in any combination of career counseling, human resource management, recruitment, educational/psychological assessment, counseling, marketing and public relations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $55,391.00-$66,469.00 Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Full state Benefits.
