Detailed Job Description

This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Student Engagement and will administer the day to day operations of the Launch grant program.
Duties & Responsibilities: Areas of responsibility include: budget and grant initiatives, direct supervision of grant staff, design and assessment of grant activities, preparation of required grant reports and communications with the college and community. Provides for the integration of grant services into college programs and services. The Launch grant-funded initiatives which improve Native American student success in math and science courses at San Juan College include: dual credit courses and support; summer math/science bridge and summer science academy; academic support and intervention for math and science courses; development of new math and science exploration and foundation courses; and professional development for faculty and staff related to grant objectives. This position partners extensively with faculty and staff throughout the college to implement grant strategies. Supervises three full-time professional staff, and oversees committees and advisory councils. Establishes institutional protocols for this Title III Grant, ensuring compliance with college and federal regulations.
Qualifications: A Master’s degree in education, math, science or a related field plus two years of project design and management experience with strong written and interpersonal communication skills and supervision and budget management experience required. Prior teaching, training, curriculum development or grant management experience preferred. Educational requirement with any combination of above mentioned experience will be accepted. Familiarity with Native American culture and educational issues required. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative multi-cultural work environment.
