This position is for the Head Coach in Women’s Wheelchair Basketball at the University of Alabama. The person in this position will report to the Director of Adapted Athletics and will work with the Director of Adapted Athletics, as well as, assistant coaches, athletic trainers, university faculty, recreation directors and university academic advisors to determine the appropriate practice, competition and training activities for wheelchair athletes. The coach will also represent the University of Alabama at various official functions and outreach activities as well as recruit student athletes to the University of Alabama and direct supplemental wheelchair basketball camps and clinics as needed. This position will be renewed annually based on performance and funding.

This position is for the Head Coach in Women’s Wheelchair Basketball at the University of Alabama. The person in this position will report to the Director of Adapted Athletics and will work with the Director of Adapted Athletics, as well as, assistant coaches, athletic trainers, university faculty, recreation directors and university academic advisors to determine the appropriate practice, competition and training activities for wheelchair athletes. The coach will also represent the University of Alabama at various official functions and outreach activities as well as recruit student athletes to the University of Alabama and direct supplemental wheelchair basketball camps and clinics as needed. This position will be renewed annually based on performance and funding.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A Doctoral degree in adapted sport, coaching, exercise science or a related field.
• Collegiate Wheelchair Basketball Head Coaching Experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Collegiate Wheelchair Basketball Head Coaching Experience,
• National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) or International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Head Coaching Experience.
• Ability to plan and conduct daily wheelchair basketball practices.
• Ability to coach a 30-35 game season that requires significant travel.
• Ability to recruit and retain students in wheelchair athletics program.
• Ability to represent the University at official functions.
• Ability to plan and direct wheelchair basketball camps and clinics.
• Ability to advise and support students to achieve academic success and retention.
• Ability to coach wheelchair tennis, adapted golf or para-rowing as a secondary sport.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Position is contingent on available funding.
