Detailed Job Description

Performs a broad scope of professional accounting activities requiring experienced, professional knowledge and application of accounting principles and practices.

Additional Department Summary:

The position performs various aspects of accounting and budgeting for the Division of Community Affairs to include payables (MDVs, DTAs, P-Card purchases and reconciliations), receivables (deposits and invoicing), journal entries, budget preparations, budget changes, financial reporting, provides support for externally funded grants, seed funding awards, prepares Personnel Action Forms (and various HR paperwork), Scholarship Appointments (liaison with scholarship office), and assists with undergraduate hiring and graduate assistant appointments.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or Finance and at least one (1) year accounting related experience; OR a CPA and some professional accounting experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic setting and in an environment of constant growth and change. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data; Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports; Ability to monitor and adhere to quality control standards; Ability to work at a rapid pace with numerous interruptions; Ability to cope with stressful conditions; Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability; Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven education and experience with various database systems, mining, reporting, developing dashboards. Preference given to candidates with experience in a higher education setting. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 31969.56 Midpoint - $ 46342.44
