Detailed Job Description
The Coordinator, Leadership Programs is responsible for coordinating and implementing leadership programming and services for students.
Additional Department Summary:
The Coordinator, Student Involvement will create and implement student involvement functions designed to promote student leadership development and successfully maintain a culture of engagement for all students on The University of Alabama campus. They will assist the Office of Student Involvement in developing programming for student leaders, providing training for student organization leaders and advisors, providing outreach to student organizations and campus departments, and providing day-to-day support for other Student Involvement initiatives. This position will also focus on training and development for student organizations and departments on both the event management system as well as the co-curricular transcript and will also aid in engaging specific student populations by establishing, advising, and executing the coordination of programs in the interest of engaging diverse and unique students in the campus experience.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Related experience as an undergraduate or graduate student in student involvement, engagement, or related field. Valid U.S. driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.
Skills and Knowledge:
Computer literacy including the knowledge and skills to act as an administrator for student organization management system. Knowledge of student development theory and practice, public speaking, collaboration and relationship building. Excellent organizational, analytical and planning skills. Ability to understand and interpret rules and regulations and ability to adjust to change with a positive attitude. Ability to understand and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or other related field. Professional staff experience in student involvement, engagement, or leadership programming. Demonstrated experience of developing or managing student leadership programs and advising student organizations. Experience working with a large, diverse student population. 56 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 28537.56 Midpoint - $ 39956.76
