Detailed Job Description
The College of Arts and Sciences at Quinnipiac University will admit its inaugural class of Master of Social Work students in August 2013, pending approval from the state and CSWE. Applications are invited for two tenure-track, 9.5-month faculty positions.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise and teaching experience in at least two of the following areas: foundation practice, policy, research, human behavior in the social environment, advanced clinical practice, and advanced community/organization practice. Areas of research or practice experience should include health, aging, mental health/substance abuse, and/or child and family welfare and justice. An active role in developing this new MSW program is expected, as it enters candidacy through CSWE.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Requirements include an MSW degree from a program accredited by CSWE, at least two years of post-MSW practice experience, and a doctorate in social work or a related social science field. Academic rank will depend upon qualifications (if ABD, the degree must be awarded prior to fall 2013 for the rank of assistant professor). Teaching experience at the MSW level and/or field instruction experience is preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, scholarly research, and inter-disciplinary collaboration.

The positions will begin in mid-August 2013; screening of applications will begin September 15, 2012 and will continue until the positions are filled.
