The University of Nevada, Reno invites you to apply for the position of Tutoring Specialist. The Tutoring Center has approximately 50 tutors and serves approximately 4000 students per semester. Tutoring session can include small group, walk –in, or one-one sessions. Subjects range from accounting, math, foreign languages, and humanities to the sciences.
The preferred candidate will be a highly motivated and well organized individual with strong communication skills. Applicants should be detail oriented, have strong time management skills and be able to work independently and effectively with a diverse population.
The Tutoring Specialist will observe, assess and evaluate Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders, will make recommendations for tutor and SI leader performance evaluations. The Tutoring Specialist will market the Tutoring Center through presentations, classroom visits, and other communications. The Tutoring Specialist will be responsible for compiling tutoring SI data and reports and will report to the Director of the Tutoring Center.
