Job Responsibilities

• Provides client contact services to the program and department

• Oversees production budgets and schedules

• Coordinates student assistant hours

• Assigns specific tasks to students assistants

• Provides oversight of the creative process

• Provides feedback and constructive criticism from a professional perspective

• Offers advice and instruction on improving skills

• Creates a professional production environment to help students acclimate to the demands of the media industry

• Recruits students to join the Student Production Office

• Evaluates student performance in a working production environment

• Generates proposals for prospective projects and clients

• Assists with decision-making for departmental equipment and software needs

• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


• Associate’s degree in Media arts or related field and/or a minimum of five years of professional experience in the industry of video and field production

• Demonstrated experience laterally guiding the work of others

• Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team

• Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

• Possesses valid Ohio Driver’s License


• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of media arts production theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

• Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and time efficiently

• Ability to recruit students and promote student success

• Ability to be creative and exercise initiative

• Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills

• Works accurately with great attention to detail

• Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

• Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment

• Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships

• Demonstrated intermediate project Management skills

• Advanced-level proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer

• Basic-level proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator

• Demonstrated advanced knowledge of video and film equipment

• Basic-level proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

• Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
