Under the direction of the Policy Officer, provides editorial support in the policy development process. The assistant editor works with policy stewards, as assigned, to research and develop policy content; to make revisions and tracks changes to policy drafts throughout the policy process; and, to provide general proofreading and editorial support.
Bachelors degree plus 1 year of related experience required.
Degree in English, political science, or a similar background.
Previous work in a policy development setting desirable but not necessary.
Familiar with and experienced with using the Chicago Manual of Style.
Previous policy development experience is a plus.
Solid research and writing skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word.
Ability to become self-educated about new subject areas in policy.
