The Culverhouse College of Commerce at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position in Marketing at the Assistant Professor level (hiring at the associate professor level will be considered as appropriate) effective August 16, 2016.
Minimum qualifications: Candidates should have an earned doctorate (or expect to complete their doctorate before August 16, 2016) in Marketing or a related field.
Preferred qualifications: Candidates should exhibit the capacity and motivation to (1) conduct research publishable in top-tier marketing journals, (2) work with doctoral students and existing faculty, (3) excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and (4) engage in appropriate service activities. The Marketing Department has an emphasis in services marketing and has need for a candidate who approaches services from a consumer behavior perspective theoretically and an experimental design perspective methodologically. Thus, candidates with research and teaching interests firmly rooted jointly in consumer behavior and services will be given priority.

The Marketing Department at steady state consists of 22 full-time faculty (15 tenure-track and 7 clinical faculty). Faculty in Marketing are recognized nationally and internationally for their research in such areas as services, strategy, sales, and supply chain. The marketing group is highly collegial, with research collaborations encouraged. Funding is available at both the college and department level to support ongoing research initiatives and the college boasts state of the art facilities to meet research and teaching needs.
