Job ID: 1171. Miami University (OH) is accepting applications for the position of 2nd Assistant Coach for Softball. This is a full-time, 12 month position with University benefits. This person will assist the head coach in the organization, management and coaching of a major Division I university softball team. It is expected that this coach carries out duties within the stated philosophy of Miami University athletics and its educational mission and follows all institutional, Mid-American Conference and NCAA rules and regulations to insure compliance.
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Responsibilities include evaluating prospective student-athletes, scouting, on field coaching, travel coordination, program administration, game preparation, practice and event planning, camp facilitation and other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Bachelor’s degree. Required qualifications include ability to demonstrate softball skills, game and training strategies, ability to communicate with and relate well to the female athlete, ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes, ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and electronic forms and have knowledge of NCAA legislation.
Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, specialization in defense, and Division 1 experience is highly desirable.
