Detailed Job Description

The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing the initial evaluation of injuries or illnesses sustained by athletes, identifying injury and illness risk factors associate with participation in a particular sport and providing health care information and counsel to the athletes, parents and coaches.

Additional Department Summary:

Solely responsible for providing preventative, emergency, and rehabilitative care to the assigned sport. Provides initial evaluation of injuries or illness sustained by these athletes, identifies injury/illness risk factors associated with participation in a competition, and provides health care information and counsel to the athletes, parents and coaches.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Sports Medicine, Training, Health, Biology, or other relevant field with at least two (2) years of related experience. Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association; current CPR and First Aid certification. Must be eligible to obtain the State of Alabama Athletic Trainer's Association License within 6 months of employment. Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and teaching skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Valid US Driver's License. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle record as determined by the insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a Division I athletic program. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience. 59 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 42993.60 Midpoint - $ 62337.60
