Detailed Job Description
The Administrative Assistant I/ II, School of Business & Law, is responsible for providing administrative and office support to the Dean through the day-to-day management of personnel, budgets, equipment and established policies related to the School's office. The Administrative Assistant initiates school purchases and professional travel arrangements through requisitions and procurement, maintains the integrity and security of personnel files and oversees School staff meetings
Associate of Arts degree or higher required
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience at the Dean or Executive levels, including daily operations of budget management, required
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including composition, editing, grammar, punctuation, proofreading, required. Excellent customer service skills required
Demonstrated supervisory experience and skills required
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality required
Advanced knowledge and expert proficiency with computer applications to include MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or a similar software management application required. Accurate keyboarding skills required.
Knowledge of the Datatel or other institutional reporting system required
Demonstrated strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, required.
Effectiveness in working as a team member required.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to accuracy, details and deadlines required.
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, administrators, governmental agencies, business/industry representatives, community organizations and the general public required
Business Management or related field preferred
Experience in a post-secondary institution preferred.
