The position has two primary roles. The instructor role encompasses teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing and global business. The instructor role will include teaching a broad set of courses in the marketing core (e.g., principles, SCM, strategy) and also the specialized import/export class in global business. The Trade Specialist role encompasses building, within the Global Business Program, a vertical relating to international trade. Such efforts would include leveraging the Port of Mobile, developing corporate and governmental partners in the import/export arena, training and mentoring students in the area of trade, and connecting students with trade-related projects, internships, and jobs. The position (as it relates to Trade Specialist) would work within the Global Business Program and directly with the Global Business Program Director to achieve mutually agreed upon objectives.

The Culverhouse College of Commerce at the University of Alabama invites applications for a non-tenure earning three-year renewable position in Marketing effective August 16, 2015. Salary is competitive.
Minimum qualifications: A Master’s degree in business or related field is required, as is a minimum of 5 years of experience related to international trade and/or import/export.
Candidates should exhibit strong team and project-management skills. Specialized training or certification in international trade and a second language is desirable. Candidates should exhibit (a) a desire to utilize their experience in building the trade vertical within the Global Business Program at UA, and (b) a willingness to work with the Global Business Program Director to achieve mutually agreed upon goals and objectives. Candidates with experience working/teaching in a university setting will also be given preference.
This is a non-tenure earning position renewable for three-year periods at the discretion of the University with no expectation of continued employment beyond any three-year contract period. Continuation of this appointment to its scheduled termination date is dependent upon meeting the department and college performance standards and compliance with all policies in the faculty handbook and general UA employment policies.
