This position reports to the DOF/VPAA.  The position is responsible for assisting the DOF/VPAA and the associate and assistant deans of the faculty in the work of the office related to the academic departments, programs, and academic offices including: communication and support of academic departments and programs; organization and assistance to faculty governance and committees; creating reports from academic administrative databases; processing of academic budgets; processing and tracking of faculty funding requests; coordinating special events including chairs’ retreat, Senior-Faculty Dinner and Commencement.  The position requires a mature approach consistent with the level of confidential matters handled by the office; sound judgment and confidence; strong personal and technical communication skills; an ability to analyze clearly the kinds of complex professional and personal situations that are handled by this office and identifying and adjusting to the implications thereof on scheduling; and the ability to conceptualize projects, identifying relevant information, and anticipating potential outcomes.  Careful attention to detail is required.   


Bachelor degree preferred.  Main requirements are that the person is bright, capable, highly motivated, has good judgment, is able to work independently, exhibits strong problem solving skills, values service to the college’s many constituents, has good computer skills (with database skills strongly preferred), and is prepared and willing to develop new computer and database skills, and is able to communicate at a highly professional level in both oral and written form.
