Under the general direction of the Assistant Director Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Manager is responsible for supervising processing staff, timely execution of financial aid packages, monthly reconciliation of state and federal funding, return of Title IV aid and Satisfactory Academic Progress evaluations. The Financial Aid Manager will focus on an area of expertise while maintaining broad knowledge of the financial aid office functionality.
•Supervises processing staff to ensure timely and accurate completion of verification and financial aid packaging.
•Perform application review and determination of student eligibility to prepare file for student aid awarding which includes:
•Verification – Assures accuracy of data and makes corrections, as needed
Federal database (C-code) resolution
•Identify/resolve conflicting information by collecting additional data
•Review financial aid history
•Evaluate satisfactory academic progress status
•Perform loan processing (SAY and BBAY) to originate loan, verify completion of entrance counseling and master promissory note, and set disbursement date.
•Perform Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Evaluations and review appeals. Provide clear timely communication to students concerning SAP.
•Perform recalculation/revisions related to student attendance, enrollment change, special circumstance appeal, satisfactory academic progress appeal, post-screening reason code eligibility changes, additional sources of aid, over award, and over payment.
•Ensure R2T4 calculations and reporting are completed timely and accurately.
•Schedule communication requests and notifications, R2T4 calculation notifications.
•Reconcile Federal and State Aid Programs monthly.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
•Demonstrated progressive leadership and utilization of administrative systems in an enrollment management focused financial aid environment.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; writing composition.
•Strong knowledge of financial aid regulations.
•Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
•Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
•Ability to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
•Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, preferably in a related field.
•Minimum of four years of financial aid operations and/or administrative management experience.
•Master’s degree preferred.
•Experience with Colleague (Datatel) preferred.
