Detailed Job Description

The Coordinator, Student Affairs Programs is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing programs and services supporting students, parents or student organizations for Student Affairs.

Additional Department Summary:

The Coordinator of First Year Experience (FYE) and Parent Programs is responsible for coordinating and implementing programs and services for students and parents which assist in the University's retention efforts. The coordinator will provide support for FYE and Parent Programs while leading programs with particular focus on parents. The Coordinator for First Year Experience (FYE) and Parent Programs will be responsible for the Parent Ambassadors program (team of 25 students who assist with Parent Orientation and other events), Family Weekend, and Transition Talks. In addition, this position will be the office liaison for University Days and Week of Welcome and serve as the main point of contact for parents through e-mail communication. This position will serve as a vital member of the team, supporting various other programs and events. This position will also supervise 1 graduate intern and 1 undergraduate student coordinator and will report to the Assistant Director of FYE & Parent Programs. Responsibilities include building and maintaining partnerships across campus and serving as a main point of contact for first-year students and parents.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience which may include program support, event planning or communications.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays when needed. Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle record as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong oral communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with parents in a college setting. Student development knowledge. Large-scale event planning and execution experience. 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 31969.56 Midpoint - $ 46342.44
