The Department of Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry - the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of McGill University is seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Assistant Professor Tenure-track in Food Quality Assurance. The successful applicant is expected to work closely with the recently established Food Safety and Quality Program (FSQP) at McGill University. The candidate is expected to establish research themes focusing on food quality and safety and food analysis to solve problems identified by the food industry and the relevant government agencies. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the commercial and regulatory environment of the Canadian food industry, the ability to network with government and industry, as well as maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will have a strong potential for scientific achievement and ability to attract funding from national and international agencies. A doctoral degree in food science specializing in quality assurance is required. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in food quality assurance, traceability and HACCP. Expected start date is August 1, 2016. Working knowledge of French will be an asset.
