Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the manager, oversees computers and building automation systems Heating and Air Conditioning equipment in all buildings.
-Essential Functions, Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:
-Coordinate and schedule times of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and lighting into a computerized energy system to meet the needs of faculty and students and save money on utilities.
-Resolve problems of building and mechanical systems and maintains personnel and direct repair work as needed.
-Interpret information and data as a first step to diagnostic and troubleshooting decisions to initiate corrections.
-Organize data on energy consumption run times on equipment, and trends and work/response logs.
-Maintain electrical automation, electronic and pneumatic controls, makes adjustments, repairs; replace electronic boards or other components that provides corrections.
-Monitor and identify problems with the heating and cooling in the buildings and makes repair as needed.
-Make periodic walks though inspections of equipment for possible freeze up problems and take actions to correct problems in a timely manner.  

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associates degree and two years experience related to essential duties; OR a combination of education and experience related to essential function total of four years. Building Management System Experience required.
Must have the following Certifications within six months:
-EPA Certification
-Gas Certification
-Phoenix Lab Control System experience  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

-Knowledge of record keeping procedures.
-Knowledge of safe working conditions in Electrical environment.
-Knowledge of mechanical operations and methods of repairing equipment.
-Knowledge of maintenance repairs and inventory of
various tools and equipment.
-Knowledge installation of swamp coolers, furnaces and HVAC roof top units.
-Knowledge of electrical supplies and equipment and their use.
-Knowledge of effective methods of resolving immediate critical situations.
-Exercise effective interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
-Skills in applying effectively general principles to specific conditions.
-Ability to follow written and oral procedures and instructions.
