Detailed Job Description

The position assists Industrial Design Professors and students in the operation of lab equipment. The Lab Coordinator will provide preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment, assist with CNC equipment use with students, and supervise open lab hours. The position will also monitor lab supply stocks and manage specialized equipment checkout.  
35%- Lab supervision-consists of assisting, directing and advising IND students during posted open lab times in designated laboratories. Assists students to maintain a safe environment utilizing appropriate safety equipment, materials and proper equipment operation. Maintains a clean, functional environment for students in the laboratory environment.

40%- CNC operation- consists of assisting current lab coordinator and independently utilizing department CNC equipment in collaboration with students and faculty.  

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education or the equivalent combination of education and experience, and three years of experience related to the position responsibilities. Extensive knowledge in the use of Industrial Design lab equipment. Documented experience in equipment or machinery repair. Experience in wood, metal, and plastic materials and fabrication. Must be able to interact positively with a wide range of people within the College and with external audiences. Documented experience or education in Computer Aided Drafting-CAD software.  

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or related field.
