Detailed Job Description

Coordinates, facilitates and schedules the use of the nature lab classroom, lab spaces, and equipment. Ensures lab database and system records are complete and accurate. Generates, summarizes and disseminates information and reports on a variety of nature lab statistics. Monitors, tracks and processes budget information; inventories supplies; and places material orders as appropriate. Gathers information and completes permit applications, forms and reports to ensure Nature Lab maintains favorable standing with State and Federal Wildlife, Fishery and Environmental groups/agencies.  


Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience in natural history, science and/or art. Strong organizational skills, budgeting, and computer experience required for maintaining records, schedules and data entry. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a service-oriented environment. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team committed maintaining an inspirational learning environment. Ability to operate imaging/camera equipment available for checkout or loan. Experience supervising students or other personnel in an educational setting preferred. Previous experience working in a living or non-living natural history collection environment, i.e. museum, zoo, aquarium, botanical garden, science center or other informal learning setting desirable.
