MSU Denver seeks an energetic and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the first CAVEA (Center for Advanced Visualization & Experiential Analysis) Director. The CAVEA is designed to serve the mission of the University by providing leading-edge, experiential education opportunities to students, promoting the development and research of faculty, and serving the community in ways that address pressing urban problems. The Director will provide leadership and oversight in creating an environment for local and regional leaders in government, nonprofit agencies, and private business, as well as faculty and students, to benefit from the immersive visualization environment in support of good decision making. The Director will develop and support the use of the CAVEA in each of these areas, including the coordination and development of projects and partnerships across the University's academic, research, and development areas.  
About the Center for Advanced Visualization and Experiential Analysis (CAVEA)

MSU Denver is excited about the addition of the CAVEA, an immersive visualization environment and a new tool integral to our efforts to advance the mission of the University. The CAVEA will be a dynamic solutions hub for local and regional government officials, non-profit agencies, and private business leaders; it will model decision-making options and policy implementation consequences - good and bad, intended and unintended. The CAVEA will be a unique state and regional resource that enables participants to make better decisions. At the core of the CAVEA is a unique opportunity to visually immerse participants in useful data which helps to foster and facilitate ideas in a rational, creative, and impartial environment. Using a technology-based, decision-making process, the CAVEA will allow users to visualize data and the results of their collaborative decisions, thanks to sophisticated real-time computer modeling.

This will include a focus on partnerships with faculty and students as the CAVEA is integrated in a variety of activities across the institution. Students, working alongside faculty and other MSU Denver personnel, will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop expertise in both the operation and application of CAVEA's advanced technology as a part of courses, internships, and employment opportunities.

Required Qualifications

1. Earned Master's Degree.
2. Five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, business, or other professional environment, of which at least three years must be in a position of leadership.
3. Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining productive partnerships with stakeholders from multiple arenas (e.g., academics, government, businesses, nonprofits) for the benefit of the home institution.  

Preferred Qualifications

1. Earned Doctorate or Terminal Degree.
2. Experience with developing an interdisciplinary educational, research, and/or outreach program working collaboratively with disparate constituents inside and outside of higher education.
3. Experience working directly in or affiliated with higher education.
4. Demonstrated experience in successfully seeking external resources from public and/or private funding sources.
5. Demonstrated experience in developing intra- and inter-institutional partnerships.
6. Experience with decision support systems and meeting facilitation, including experience with the use and support of computer visualization and/or 3-D computer modeling.
