The French Lecturer teaches a diverse student population using a variety of instructional modes and acknowledged best practices under the administrative direction of the Dean of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the Chair of the Department of Languages & Cultures. The Department and French Program support the university in its mission to provide students with opportunities to engage with real-life contexts and local and global communities and helps them prepare for success in his/her educational, professional and personal goals. The position includes a teaching load of 15 credit hours a semester, departmental and university service assignments and coordinator/administrative responsibilities. A teaching load of 9-10 credit hours for summer may be available with additional compensation. There is also a possibility of reassigned time for some administrative responsibilities.
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a doctorate degree in a related field to the coursework being taught or master’s degree plus two years of experience in a related discipline. Demonstrated successful teaching at the college or university level is required.
Knowledge of principles and methodologies of language-learning and teaching of the French language and course content.
Knowledge of curriculum development, program development and evaluation.

Engage in innovative, student-centered pedagogy.

Ability to communicate effectively in English and French, verbally and in writing.
