The Multicultural Center (MCC) at Bentley University creates an inclusive student community through its programs and services; one in which students actively celebrate and seek interactions with those who are different as well as with those who are alike.

The Center serves and advocates for all ALANA (African-American, Latino, Asian-American, Native American and multiracial) and non-ALANA students through strong efforts connected to orientation academics, professional development, leadership, mentorship and educational programs and events, especially those which encourage cross-cultural dialogue and integrate multicultural experiences into the daily life on campus.

We invite candidates who are eager to assist the Student Affairs division in achieving its goals, especially those related to increasing the availability of opportunities for diverse interactions for students to apply.

The Director develops, along with Student Affairs leadership, the vision and strategy for the MCC. The Director manages the operation of the MCC with a primary focus on programs and services that enhance the quality of ALANA and multi-ethnic students' university experience, as well as those which support the divisional goals related to diversity and inclusion.  

Additional Description of Duties:

Through relationships with university students, faculty and staff, promote the Center as a resource for members of the Bentley community.
Develop programs and services that promote retention and provide support for students of color and multi-ethnic backgrounds.  

Position Qualifications

Master's degree in higher education administration or related field and at least five to seven years of experience in higher education preferred, particularly working with ALANA, multi-ethnic, or otherwise diverse, populations. Strong student development practitioner.

Experience supervising master's level professional staff in a higher education setting.

Possesses depth and breadth of higher education administration, and applies that knowledge to further advance the goals of the university.
Has acute interpersonal, supervisory, program/project management, and presentation skills as well as excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
