Detailed Job Description

The purpose of this position is to develop and implement programs and activities that serve to increase student interactions and engagement, especially those occurring in the Student Center on campus.

The Program Coordinator for the Student Center responsible for the development and implementation of a dynamic, highly engaging Student Center program. The Coordinator works with the TNT (Today and Tonight in the Bentley Student Center) program board in the execution of its daytime, pub and late night and substance free (Falcons UNite) programming. These events serve as one of many ways to increase the amount of diverse interactions among students.  

Additional Description of Duties:

Supervise TNT student staff in the development, implementation, and execution of a weekly series of dynamic, highly engaging Student Center programs, inclusive of daytime, pub, late night, and substance free activities intended to increase the amount of diverse interactions among students.

Co-Chair Student Center advisory board.

Assist in the development of department leadership programming initiatives.

Serve as Cluster Advisor (Student Activities advisor & contact) for up to 2 groups of recognized student organizations.

Implement a Student Center marketing strategy, including effective use of social media.

Identify and incorporate best practices for creating and sustaining student engagement around diverse interactions.

Assist in the advancement of departmental and divisional goals; i.e. student engagement, diverse interactions, and spirit initiatives.  

Position Qualifications

Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling or related field. Knowledge of student development theory, 1-2 years event/program experience preferably through a graduate program, advising student organizations in a college setting. Experience in late night programming desired. Experience in multicultural settings, diversity training programs, second language fluency, or coursework in multicultural perspectives is desirable.
