Job Responsibilities

Supports the Dean in developing strategic direction and focus for the major functions within the Access and Completion division including those in the enrollment center, counseling office, career services, student life and athletics as well as other student support services

Develops and implements budgets within the division, specifically those related to student services

Provides oversight and strategic direction to the various services and initiatives that promote student success and smooth transition though the College’s enrollment, matriculation, graduation, career and transfer processes

Builds and strengthens partnerships with internal and external partners to improve and integrate services for students

Supports student relationship-building efforts to aid in first-year experience programs, student mentoring efforts, the student ambassador program, and faculty-student engagement initiatives, as well as other efforts

Supervises the Student Success Specialist and other team members as needed, providing direction and feedback necessary to achieve results including student recruitment, development, retention, completion and transfer

Supports development and implementation of campus and college-wide enrollment initiatives, including recruitment events and activities, student life and development initiatives and student services planning and scheduling

Serves as a member of campus and college leadership teams

Collaborates with counterparts to assist in developing student related policies and procedures

Assists the Dean with compliance matters related to student success and achievement, including Title IX

Serves as site coordinator for student conduct, complaints, and judicial process

Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Master’s degree in a related field and/or a minimum of three years of demonstrated higher education administration experience in student affairs or related areas

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Possesses working knowledge of current and emerging educational technologies with the ability to apply in a variety of situations

Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results

Demonstrated knowledge of integrated student information systems

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, both as a team leader and participant.

Commitment to student success and to the mission of community colleges

Possesses strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented

Works accurately with great attention to detail

Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with Banner Information System (or equivalent program)

Demonstrated experienced in managing student workers and other employees

Demonstrated experienced in scheduling services and in reporting outcomes using SARS or a related software

Demonstrated experienced in development and delivery of student development programs and services

Work Schedule

Standard College hours of operation, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Occasional evening and weekends as necessary
