Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Student Success and Retention, directs all aspects of the Multicultural Student Services department. Focuses on recruiting and retaining students from diverse and underrepresented cultures and backgrounds. Collaborates closely with other entities within the Center for Global and Intercultural Engagement (CGIE) to increase intercultural competency of all UVU students.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline plus three years of staff level experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling seven years.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in a related field is preferred.


Must demonstrate knowledge and application of recruiting and retaining multicultural students.
Must demonstrate knowledge of diversity issues within higher education contexts.


Must possess skill in preparing and managing budgets and with fiscal management; communication and interpersonal relationships.
Must demonstrate skill in leadership and employee development.
Must possess strong communication skills in both written and oral formats.
Should have strong skills in facilitating dialogues and about diversity and inclusion.


Must demonstrate the ability to foster and build cooperative work environments.
Must demonstrate the ability to articulate the mission of Multicultural Student Services.

Pay Range

$50,427 to $67,236
