Highland Community College is a small, vibrant community college in the northwest corner of Illinois, within 125 miles of Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin. Highland is seeking a full-time, tenure track Criminal Justice instructor, beginning fall semester 2015. This is a new position in the newly created Criminal Justice department. Candidates must be prepared to teach at least fifteen contact hours each semester (fall & spring sections). Summer teaching assignments may also be available. Additional responsibilities of the position include curriculum development, assessment of student learning, student recruitment activities, and other related curricular and committee responsibilities. Master's degree in Criminal Justice is required. Successful teaching experience at post-secondary level preferred, ideally in a community college setting, and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Experience in alternative delivery modes preferred.
