This position provides excellent customer service, professional administrative support and coordination for student mobility programs and advisors at Miami University. Serving as a critical front line resource for international students and scholars, study abroad students.


GLI Program Assistant is primarily responsible for greeting students, faculty, staff and community members at the Global Initiatives Front Desk. Duties include schedule advising appointments for study abroad, international students and scholars, and continuing education; maintain accurate and complete records of activity; respond or refer entity e-mail to resolution; disseminate and collect immigration, visa, and study abroad documents, deposits, and payments; respond to inquiries via telephone, e-mail, and instant message; serve as Passport Acceptance Agent; make daily out-of-office trips to PNC, Mailroom, etc.; perform general office tasks as needed, including some student employee supervision and training.  

Minimum Qualifications

Requires six months of business or administrative related coursework or training beyond high school and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

Exceptional customer service skills and demonstrated student-centered approach; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; excellent time management, organization, and communication (verbal and written) skills, including ability to maintain composure under pressure; ability to communicate and work with the diverse population of learners; culturally competent; ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision; supervision experience.
