The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing preventive, emergency, and rehabilitative care to student-athletes. The Assistant will aid in the initial evaluation of injuries or illness sustained by an athlete, identify injury/illness risk factors associated with participation in competitive sports, and provide health care information and counsel to athletes, parents, and coaches. The Assistant will also assist in coordinating the administrative components of an athletic training program which includes health care services, financial management, training room management, personnel management and public relations and will be required to transport students occasionally using state vehicles.

Additional Department Summary:

Required Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Health Studies or other relevant field and at least six (6) months experience in the field of athletic training. Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association. Eligible for Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers license. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Strong interpersonal and teaching skills. Valid US Driver's License. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a certified athletic trainer through NATABOC. NCAA Division I experience required.

Skills and Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of NCAA Division I policies and procedures. Experience working with a diverse student population and understanding of multicultural issues. Creative thinking and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred. 55 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 25833.60 Midpoint - $ 34444.80
