The Grant Director is responsible for the overall management of a $5,000,000 Florida Department of Education grant designed to assist pre-service kindergarten to grade 5 (K-5) teachers in increasing content knowledge in the core subject areas and enhancing the field experience in the final internship.
The grant director position is responsible for the overall grant management and leading the day to day activities including, but not limited to:
1. Leading the restructuring of the current K-5 degree delivery model including working with faculty to develop specific content level courses
2. Enhancing cooperating teacher preparedness and outreach strategies to improve field experiences
3. Implementing evidence based coaching approaches
4. Leading impact on student learning initiatives
5. Leading training in the VAM used locally and statewide
6. Working with the Dean of the College of Education, program faculty, and the Florida Department of Education, as needed.
Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction or in a closely related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of K-5 teaching experience, working knowledge of Florida Standards, and familiarity with Florida Program Approval Guidelines
Must hold or be able to hold a K-5 Florida Teaching License
The classification is responsible for performing professional and/or program management duties in academic related specialties in a single department or function. Incumbents will manage the daily activities, develop plans to approach projects, implement solutions, and perform professional level work in assigned area. Incumbents are responsible for supervising employees or student workers, and developing and monitoring a budget.

1.Manages staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
2.Prepares cost estimates for budget recommendations, submits justifications for budget items, and monitors and controls expenditures.
3.Manages the implementation of internal operations for an assigned academic department or program, which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards; coordinating activities between multiple service areas; and working to integrate and coordinate service areas.
4.Prepares, reviews, and interprets a variety of applications, agreements, forms, records, needs assessments, business correspondence, and reports; makes recommendations based on findings.
5.Responds to requests for information from faculty, staff, students, outside agencies, and community regarding academic or operational programs in assigned area of responsibility; researches and resolves issues, complaints, and/or other related problems; provides information to students as necessary.
6.Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
