FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT/ACADEMIC COUNSELOR: (Enrollment Services) (Primarily Haverhill Campus Career Planning and Advising Center) 37.5 hours per week, with adjustable work hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate off campus recruitment activities, special events, activities at the Lawrence campus, and peak enrollment periods (MCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated starting date: September 2012
As a productive member of the admissions and recruitment team, serves as primary person responsible for delivering all high school recruitment and related activities including dual enrollment. Maintain and update existing cooperation agreements with high school guidance departments and initiate new agreements. Coordinate all dual enrollment related activities and assist with “Early College” activities as assigned. Represent the college at high schools, college fairs, financial aid nights, community agency youth programs, alternative high schools, after school programs, on and off campus special events, and other activities as assigned and design tailored PowerPoint presentations for such events as appropriate. Provide ongoing outreach and support to prospective, new and returning students. Plan and conduct open houses, tours and information sessions. Provide comprehensive advising and enrollment services (with emphasis on financial aid) to prospective students, new students, and continuing students within the Career Planning and Advising Centers. Assist with implementing Web Recruit and the communication plan towards the development and maintenance of an effective enrollment pipeline moving students successfully from inquiry through enrollment including admissions and financial aid applications, assessment, and registration. This position reports to the Director of Admissions & Recruitment.
Master’s degree in education, counseling, or related area required with three or more years of significant experience and/or training in college admissions and recruitment, financial aid, and career and academic planning, preferably in a community college setting. Strong identification with first generation, low income, and disadvantaged students towards promoting their access to higher education opportunities. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and student success. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills required. Excellent customer service skills are required. Must be well organized, resilient, flexible, and be able to work both independently and as a member of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and student information systems, preferably SCT Banner Student Information Systems, required. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural Spanish preferred.
Salray: $50,785 to $73,639 annually with complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA classification system; Pay grade 5
