Helms Education Group which is comprised of Helms College, Helms Career Institute and Helms Continuing Education is seeking a Director of Financial Aid to direct the Office of Student Financial Aid and the student financial aid program.
Helms College and Helms Career Institute are private, not-for-profit career institutions envisioned and developed by Goodwill Industries serving Middle Georgia and the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Open to any qualified student attracted to career oriented experiential learning programs, each is designed to ensure that students with barriers to employment and career advancement receive the relevant training and applied learning experiences paired with individualized support that enable them to obtain portable associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates that foster the potential for middle-skills career attainment.
The director is responsible for successfully administering federal, state, and other forms of institutional aid and submitting related reports; administration of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Title IV regulations and accreditation standards; preparing and managing the office budget; advising and training staff members; actively participating in all daily functions and other related duties as required.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of five years of experience managing financial aid programs and personnel. Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures related to the administration of financial aid awarding and reporting. In particular, the successful candidate must possess strong knowledge of Title IV Federal financial aid regulations and institutional compliance. Prior experience with ACCET and COE accreditation preferred.
