Under the direction of the Community and Continuing Education (CCE) Director, is responsible for the development of executive education, pathways, certificates, both credit and non-credit, teacher education, technical programs, government contracts, conferences and events in relation to workforce and professional development.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field and three years experience related to the Summary of Duties or a combination of education and/or experience totaling seven years.
-Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree and four years experience related to the essential functions of the position.
-Master degree preferred.
-Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of community and continuing education concepts, workforce and professional development principles, methods and processes. Knowledge of UVU content and curriculum including a history of courses and offerings.
Thorough knowledge of current trends and best practices in community and continuing education workforce and professional development.
Effective communication skills, oral and written, with ability to build relationships with diverse constituents and organizations.
Demonstrated skill working effectively and efficiently witihin a team-oriented environment with various institutional units to plan, implement, and evaluate marketing practices and procedures.
Efficient in use of computer applications, including Microsoft office suite and associated higher education systems.
Strong budget management, event planning, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated understanding of lines of authority related to areas of responsibility, recognition of the need to coordinate activities through appropriate supervisory levels, ability to take direction and consult with designated lines of authority.
Ability to work closely with direct supervisor to identify and develop strategic plans, goals, innovations in a collaborative, team-oriented way.
Ability to apply strong management, communication, and organizational skills to advance the mission of the University and of the Center for Professional Development and Workforce Education.
Ability to translate the University mission and priorities into strategic and operational plans for the Center for Professional Development and Workforce Education in collaboration with other University entities.
Ability to supervise and train employees.
Ability to work with attention to detail, to prioritize, and be flexible as needs dictate.
Ability to develop, implement, and maintain programs and grants.
Ability to work independently, prioritize and follow projects and assignments through to completion in a timely manner, and delegate as required.
