Detailed Job Description

Provides testing services to students and community members, including maintenance of inventory, test administration, test scoring, and record keeping.

Essential Job Functions

1. Assists the faculty in arranging testing procedures for their students.
2. Determines correct identification of students scheduled to take a specified examination.
3. Proctors examinations.
4. Administers and monitors all examinations schedules in the testing center.
5. Assists in grading tests upon request.
6. Retrieves scores from a computer.
7. Returns examinations and results to faculty when requested.
8. Maintains an inventory of materials used in the Testing Center.
9. Prepares requisitions for testing materials as requested by the counseling staff.
10. Maintains the security of all tests.
11. Answers inquiries and directs calls appropriately.
12. Records grades as directed.
13. Creates and maintains student folders.
14. Other duties as assigned.


1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience which demonstrates the ability to work without close supervision.
3. A demonstrated commitment to diversity.
4. Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accomodation.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

1. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures, testing, and scoring procedures.
2. Ability to work in a multiple task environment.
3. Ability to exercise good judgment.
4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
5. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
6. Skill in computer use, computer adaptive testing, and other office equipment.
7. Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations.
