Incumbent will participate in all aspects of the Forest Products Department research, teaching, and service program. Incumbent will develop and conduct a program of research in forest products/wood science and technology with an emphasis on wood /biobased composites. Candidate will be expected to vigorously pursue extramural funding through scientific-based competitive grants, industrial grants and contracts, etc. and to build a nationally recognized research program. Incumbent will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, such as biobased composites and assist in programmatic student advising, curriculum development, and other departmental responsibilities as appropriate. Particular emphasis will be placed on advising graduate students. Incumbent will be expected to provide professional service within the university and with external stakeholders such as professional organizations, manufacturing entities, trade organizations, etc. Active collaborations within the department, college, and university as well as with external stakeholders such as industry, other universities, government and nongovernmental organizations, etc. to advance the tripartite land-grant mission are expected. The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. from an accredited institution of higher learning in either Wood Science, Forest/Biobased Products or an allied scientific discipline such as engineering, or other as appropriate.
