Detailed Job Description

This position is responsible for developing, managing and delivering the Enrollment Management Division's online and web-based recruitment, admission and financial aid plans and strategies, including social media coordination and website communication initiatives to maximize exposure among target prospective student audiences. The position is also responsible for assessment of all online and web-based communication strategies and initiatives. Responsibilities include generating online inquiries and applications from prospective undergraduate and graduate students, and improving enrollment yield.

  •  Work as a member of the Enrollment Management leadership team to develop and implement technologically-based recruitment marketing strategies to generate inquiries and applications and meet other enrollment management goals.
  • Serve as primary contact to external search engine organization and web development firms and third party portal sites, directing their efforts to maximize returns and minimize cost per inquiry, application and enrolled student.
  •  Guide and actively seek out ways to enhance natural recruitment search efforts.
  •  Strategically select and manage online pay-per-click and banner ad search, recruitment and enrollment campaigns.
  • Oversee search engine optimization for websites and future affiliated sites.
  • Develop social media and email recruitment and admission marketing campaigns that meet standards of quality and are in compliance with the College's brand.
  • Develop and manage Enrollment Management websites' content and capability updates.
  •  Collaborate with and train Enrollment Management offices (Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid, etc.) to keep content current and compelling, while ensuring sites remains intuitive and easy to navigate.
  • Lead and manage efforts to develop and add video and blogging components to Enrollment Management websites to re-enforce key messages in a dynamic, authentic way.
  • Manage the continued "internationalization" of the College's Enrollment Management websites, including connecting the site to online sources used by international students.
  • Perform other recruitment marketing and communications-related duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, English or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of demonstrated experience developing web content and using e-media and social media tools to support a company/enterprise/organization's services, mission or purpose is required.  
  • Previous work experience in a higher education setting is preferred.
  • Experience working with content management systems and online marketing initiatives, including pay-per-click advertising.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants.
  • Knowledge and experience using SEO tools to improve awareness from target audiences.
  • Advanced level computer skills using a Windows-based operating system, specifically MS Office Suite, HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Quark/InDesign. 
  • Strong and proven project management skills including vendor/client relations
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills, with attention to detail. 
  • Familiarity with writing for the web and social media.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of constituents including prospective and current students, parents, faculty and staff.
  • Experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.

Additional Information:

This position requires flexibility of schedule  as well as evening and weekend hours to support Enrollment Management student conversion events.
