Detailed Job Description

This position is responsible for compiling and reporting research data and analysis related to enrollment, admissions, recruitment, retention, scholarship, financial aid, and academic enrollment information.  Creates, monitors, analyzes and reports appropriate metrics to inform and guide operational decisions related to the effectiveness of financial aid policies and impact of marketing and recruitment and retention initiatives.   Collaborates with the Office of Institutional Research on submission enrollment data required for external reporting agencies.  Keeps abreast of federal and state policies and trends related to recruitment, admission, retention, financial aid and enrollment of various student constituent groups.


  •  Assemble data from various sources pertaining to the trends and issues relevant to enrollment as well as assist in the auditing of current internal business practices
  •  Assist in planning, updating and analyzing an internal audit process of current internal business practices to ensure data integrity and continuous improvement across all Enrollment Management departments.
  • Prepare written reports and oral presentations for a wide range of audiences summarizing data analysis results, including detailed description of statistical methods, detailed analysis of results, and synthesis of conclusions from summary data. 
  • Design and implement the administration of admitted student questionnaires and other survey instruments related to gauging the College's relative market position.
  • Conduct focus groups with prospective students, current students, and other important constituencies as needed.  Analyze and report on results.
  • Implement planned analysis, including data verification and data correction as necessary, using one or more computer systems, data visualization tools (Tableau), CRM tools (Hobson's), Google analytics  and statistical analysis software for the management and analysis of admissions, enrollment and financial aid data.
  • Perform market and competitor analyses to support strategic enrollment planning.
  • Monitor and maintain a current knowledge level about federal and state policy changes affecting higher education as well as competitor analysis.  
  • Monitors large scale, national data resources in order to keep abreast of the latest research findings, trends, and best practices in enrollment management.
  •  Assist in the ongoing development and refinement of various forecasting models used in enrollment planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Three years of experience in information analysis or auditing at an institution of higher education.   Experience working with various large data sources, extracting and manipulating data related to enrollment management is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple and diverse database sources by designing, refining and running complex data queries and producing related reports 
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying the correct issues to be communicated to the appropriate audiences, method and timing of communication
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state policies and trends related to enrollment, retention and financial aid
  • Intermediate level experience as a user of enterprise management systems (SCT Banner), Data Visualization tools (Tableau), CRM tools (Hobson's) and/or SQL is preferred
  • Advanced level computer skills using a Windows based operating system, specifically MS Word, Excel (graphics, pivot tables), and  Access query writing. and statistical packages such as SAS or SPSS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research methods; design and analysis including quantitative and qualitative approaches
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of constituents including students, parents, faculty, staff, and senior management
  • Experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities 
  • A proven service orientation
  • Ability to set priorities and organize tasks, documents and materials efficiently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
