Detailed Job Description

Serves as Admissions Counselor and provides administrative support in the University's efforts to identify and enroll qualified students and will be an on-campus and field representative of the University of Alabama. The primary duties are to support the recruitment and admission of new students to the University. These duties may include, travel, interviewing, making presentations, promoting the University of Alabama and screening applications.

Additional Department Summary:

The primary duties are to support the identification, recruitment, and admission of new students to the Honors College through arranging personalized VIP campus visits. Provides support to UA Undergraduate Admissions in their efforts to identify and enroll qualified students and will be an on-campus and field representative of the Honors College. Duties will include arranging personalized campus visits, meeting with current and prospective students, assisting with the planning and implementation of on and off campus recruitment events, visiting high schools, attending college fairs, making presentations, screening applications, and communicating with prospective students, their families, high school counselors, alumni and friends of UA.

Required Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's degree, preferably in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling or related field. A minimum of six months of experience to include student recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, communications, education, counseling, or related experience or for at least one year in college you were an active member of a student organization or in a student leadership role. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application. Additional Required Department Qualifications:The ability to travel alone out of town, sometimes overnight; an interest in working with prospective college students and their families; the ability to work with different cultures and groups of people. The functions of this position will require some evening and weekend work. Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as determined by the insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of experience in college admissions, student recruitment, public relations, marketing, sales. or other relevant field. Prefer experience working with Honors College-eligible students or experience working in an Honors College environment. 55 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 25833.60 Midpoint - $ 34444.80
