Job Description:

Position Description: Provide psychological counseling/support and crisis intervention; maintain database of external resources and make appropriate referrals to outside agencies and internal support services, provide workshops for faculty and staff.

Specific Duties:

  • Counsels   students on personal/psychological issues; responds to psychological emergencies, provides crisis intervention.
  • Consults/confers with mental health practitioners/providers regarding clients' needs; makes referrals to outside practitioners/agencies for specific counseling or social service needs.
  • Serves as advocate for students and student issues.
  • Conducts psycho-educational programs and workshops; designs, coordinates, and/or delivers courses, workshops and programs.
  • Develops and administers programs to address related programs and services.
  • Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities; maintains case notes and records; prepares reports.
  • Collaborates with the Information Services Department to implement the judicial affairs management module.
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or closely related field, with ten years' experience that includes one or more of the following: psychological counseling, psycho-therapy services, crisis intervention, social work or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Licensure strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
  • Ability to work from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.
  • Experience working with a college population preferred.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $57,330.00-$62,000.00 Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full state Benefits.
