Detailed Job Description

PART-TIME CAREER PATHWAY BRIDGE PROGRAM COORDINATOR: The Center for Adult Education Programs and Preparation (CAEPP) (21 hours per week) (MCCC/MTA Unit Position) Anticipated start date: May, 2015

  • Coordinate and conduct student recruitment, intake, assessment;
  • Program scheduling - includes classrooms and computer lab reservation;
  • Develop and revise contextualized course curricula; organize and maintain a curriculum document to be used as working document by instructors;
  • Work with instructors to prepare, preview, evaluate instructional materials for courses i.e. syllabi, tests, tutorials;
  • Assist instructors in selecting instructional resources, supplies and textbooks, and in the preparation of lesson plans and authentic teaching materials;
  • Assist instructors to align lesson plans to the MA ABE Frameworks and CCRSAE;
  • Monitor student attendance;
  • Monitor student progress; review student performance based on writing assignments, tests, journals;
  • Work with Advisor to facilitate workshops and educational activities; arrange logistics for credit classes; organize educational field trips and other student activities;
  • Collaborate with college faculty, staff, and departments to address students' needs;
  • Participate in partnership meetings to represent the ESOL Career Pathways Bridge project;
  • Participate in interviewing for instructors and program staff;
  • Meet with instructors and Advisor in order to maintain accurate records of students' performance, attendance patterns and other day to day program needs;
  • Supervise instructors; including bi-annual classroom observation/written evaluation; ensure all instructors attended the required professional development hours and assist instructors with professional development selection, conduct staff development when appropriate;
  • Meet with the Director and Administrative assistant to review program expenditures;
  • Create/update marketing and public relations materials such as flyers and brochures;
  • Develop and implement the program's continuous improvement plan (develop with instructors);
  • Attend professional development activities;
  • Participate in individual and unit meetings with Director and team;
  • Substitute as needed, to ensure classroom coverage;
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director.

Salary: $26.40 per hour with pro-rated benefits.
