Frostburg State University, Department of Educational Professions, seeks applications for a full-time contractual faculty position in the Early Childhood/Elementary Education program at the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH). This non-tenure-track position at the rank of Lecturer will begin Fall 2015. Salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities: Teach general content methods courses (mathematics, science, and/or social studies) at USMH. Supervise candidates in field settings. Advise Early Childhood/Elementary Education candidates and applicants. Work collaboratively with USMH faculty, P-9 program coordinator and faculty, and school PDS partners. Actively participate on department and program committees.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Education. At least 3 years of public school teaching at the elementary level with experience teaching mathematics, science, and/or social studies. Experience mentoring and/or supervising teacher candidates. Ability to use technology to enhance instruction and inform assessments.
Preferred Qualifications: Involvement with curriculum development at the local or state level. Experience in special education.
