The Regional Director of Admission is responsible for planning and directing the administrative and operational activities within the Regional Office of Admission. 


The primary responsibilities include providing vision, direction and leadership for admission and recruitment to meet new student enrollment goals.

Provide strategic vision to establish department plans, align plans with the Regional Office of Marketing & Public Relations, and provide leadership in effective change management to implement plans. Work collaboratively with the Regional Office of Marketing and Public Relations to ensure effective and timely admission communication and marketing.

Strategically analyze admission data, and work collaboratively with the Senior Regional Director of Enrollment Management in establishing admission goals, monitor enrollment goal progress, and provide regular admission reports to administration. Serve as a standing member on the Strategic Enrollment Management Council and its Enrollment Action Team.

Evaluate and set direction for existing and needed Office of Admission policies, procedures, and practices to improve office efficiency, enhance technology, employ admission and recruitment best practices, and integrate state and federal directed initiatives impacting early high school enrollment, transfer, adult, technical, veteran/active military, and other related areas into strategic operations to improve enrollment.

Interpret university, state and federal policies and regulations related to application processing and transcript acceptance and implement appropriate processes and procedures to comply with policies and regulations, including information security and data integrity. Develop and implement procedures for student applications audits, accrediting bodies and other external agencies and respond to questions regarding Regional Admission policies and procedures. Assist with the completion and submission of federal, state and institutional reports that are impacted by admissions data.

Developing and leading full- and part-time staff members that provide effective communication and customer service programs for students, faculty, administration, and the general public in areas related to domestic and international recruitment and assure a student-centered and excellent customer service approach in these areas.

Represent the office in University committees and in professional organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Five years of experience working in higher education within admission and recruitment
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated success in managing entering student enrollment
  • Successful experience marketing and recruiting educational programs
  • Ability to use data effectively to make decisions
  • Excellent people skills; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; ability to motivate and lead people; demonstrated successful ability to collaborate and build strong effective working relationships across departments/offices
  • Demonstrated appreciation for working with students of diverse backgrounds
  • Experience with communication management systems and the effective use of these to impact conversion and yield rates; experience working with various web applications, databases and office applications including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure, prioritizing work and meeting deadlines
  • Must have capability to multi-task and maintain high attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven years’ experience in higher education, admission, and recruitment
  • Experience working within a non-residential institution and with non-traditional student populations
  • Demonstrated experience in entering student success initiatives; demonstrated understanding of student financial assistance and its impact on student recruitment, retention, and completion
  • Experience with CollegeNET and ellucian Banner
