Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for a 10-month faculty appointment in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics beginning August 1, 2015. A PhD and RD are required. Candidates with an established research agenda supported by external funding are preferred. Position offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and networking.
The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is housed in the Doisy College of Health Sciences on the University's medical center campus and has both Undergraduate and Graduate programs, including a Masters completion Dietetic Internship accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). The Master's program has multiple options for academic and clinical training focus, including medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, nutrition and physical performance, culinary entrepreneurship, and medical pediatrics nutrition. The department currently employs 14 full time faculty members.
-Teaching and Research experience
-Registered Dietitian (RD)
-Clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian
-Successful acquisition of external funds
-Teach graduate courses and undergraduate courses in Medical Dietetics
-Maintain an active research program with appropriate publications
-Advise, monitor, and evaluate graduate students'/dietetic interns' progress throughout the program for a successful outcome
-Chair and serve on graduate research committees
-Provide assistance to develop, update and monitor program
objectives, policies and outcome assessment strategies
-Participate in evaluation of outcome results with appropriate action planning
-Participate in department recruitment and orientation activities
-Enhance professional growth and development by keeping abreast of the latest trends in the profession, higher education, and the food environment
-In collaboration with the other faculty, assist in the development of a department strategic plan
-Contribute to Department, College and University committees, as appropriate
-Attend and participate in scheduled departmental meetings
-Participate in annual application and selection process
-Assist with other Departmental activities, as assigned
