Detailed Job Description

The Director of Community Engagement will provide campus leadership for students, faculty and staff who want to serve and learn in the community.

Additional Department Summary:

This position will serve as the focal point for community-based organizations, K-12, business, faith-based, and governmental institutions seeking University support to address unmet community needs. This position will facilitate all forms of community engagement including direct service, philanthropy, activism, political participation, social entrepreneurship, community-based research and advocacy.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Higher Education Administration or related field and a minimum of 5 years of administrative experience in a higher education environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer doctorate in Higher Education Administration or relevant field. Prefer research documentation and information gathering skills. Prefer candidate to have knowledge/skills required for resource development including proposal writing, budgeting, staffing, and developing connections with funders. Prefer candidate to have knowledge/skills for successful management including defining needed positions, securing and preparing competent staff and overseeing and supporting their work. Prefer demonstrated experience building partnerships with the academic community. Also prefer candidate to have a thorough knowledge of the theories and practices related to the development of college students, knowledge of ethnic minority cultures and understanding of the needs of underrepresented students. 61 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 58656.00 Midpoint - $ 85342.44
