Detailed Job Description

The Associate Director for Environmental Programs, Division of Environmental and Industrial Programs provides leadership and directs development and implementation of all programs assigned to the Environmental Programs section, including environmental hazard assessment and remediation, environmental occupation accreditation and certification, environmental compliance consulting and practical research in the area of environmental assessment and remediation technologies and methods. This position also represents the College of Continuing Studies and University in collaborative relationships with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), through which professional standards and policies are jointly developed and implemented.

Required Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a Master's degree in environmental engineering, environmental health, public health, industrial hygiene or a closely related field with a minimum of three (3) years professional level experience in positions involving the recognition, evaluation and control of environmental health hazards, with at least three years in a management position, OR a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental health, public health, industrial hygiene or a closely related field with a minimum of five (5) years professional level experience in positions involving the recognition, evaluation and control of environmental health hazards, with at least three years in a management position.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Working knowledge of financial management, human resources and marketing is required. Basic computer usage skills in a Windows and Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint) environment are required. Must be able and willing to travel in and out of state when needed.Valid U.S. driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier. 60 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 49878.36 Midpoint - $ 72321.60
