Associate Director of Training

Counselling Psychology Programs

Position: Reporting to the Director of Training and to the Counselling Psychology Program Director, the Associate Director of Training will play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with practicum supervisors and overseeing the placement and monitoring of students on practicum for Adler University’s Master’s-level Counselling Psychology programs.  This position will also involve some teaching, thesis supervision, advising and program development responsibilities.

Work schedule: This full-time core faculty position is designed around a four-day week (32 hours) contract.  The position is available September, 2015.



  • A doctoral-level degree in Counselling Psychology from a recognized program accredited by CPA, APA, or equivalent.
  • Psychologist Registration (or registration eligibility) with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (successful registration will be a contract requirement).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and networking skills
  • Supervisory experience and knowledge of trainee development
  • Organizational skills, a high degree of professionalism and a strong team orientation
  • Post-secondary teaching experience
  • Experience counselling and supervising in one of the prevalent languages found in the Greater Vancouver area would be an asset (e.g., Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Punjabi, or Spanish).
