The Business Administration Department at Stonehill College invites applicants for a part-time adjunct instructor to begin September 2015. This person would join the department of 19 full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. The Business Administration Department at Stonehill College is AACSB accredited. We seek applicants who have a diverse background and experience in educating and advising undergraduate business students.
The position involves teaching one or two sections of BUS 206 Quantitative Analysis. This position is location bound. Our part time instructor is required to work from Stonehill College. THIS IS NOT AN ONLINE COURSE. This first-year/sophomore level course is an introduction to the techniques and reasoning processes of statistical analysis, specifically in the corporate/business environment. Emphasis on statistical reasoning and critical analysis of statistical evidence is important. Statistical software (JMP by SAS) is used to support computational tasks. Topics include study/survey design, data collection, descriptive statistics, elementary probability, discrete and continuous distributions, confidence interval estimation, tests of hypotheses for numerical and categorical data, simple linear regression, and multiple regression. Prerequisite(s): MTH 105 (Finite Mathematics) or MTH 119 (Applied Calculus for Business) or MTH 125 (Calculus I). There are currently two sections of the course scheduled to run: Tuesdays 4:00pm-6:30pm and Wednesdays 4:00pm-6:30pm. Combining of two sections may be possible (but not guaranteed).
Candidates must hold a Master of Business Administration, Master of Management Science, or related degree, have relevant professional experience, and proven successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in teaching quantitative analysis, statistics, or research methods.
