Detailed Job Description

The Program Specialist isresponsible for supporting the administration of a program(s) or department.May assist with program design, management, and implementation. Serves asliaison between the program/department and other departments or the community.Position may supervise staff or students, provide complex administrativeassistance, create promotional materials, and/or assist in the development ofother potential programs. Position may be responsible for budgetaryinformation.

Additional Department Summary:

Assists Project Directorto conduct orientations and program assessment.Involves travel throughout the state of Alabama. This position will be trained by a nationalassessment institute to become a reliable assessor to administer environmentalrating scales used to determine quality of child care programs. Specialist will be required to write reportsas assessments conducted at childcare programs.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher and a minimum oftwo (2) years related experience, OR an associate's degree and a minimum offour (4) years related experience, OR a high school diploma or GED and aminimum of six (6) years related experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor'sDegree in Child Development or related field.Familiarity with Alabama Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers. Working knowledge of developmentallyappropriate practice. Valid U.S.driver's license. Must be at least 21years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by theinsurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

Workingknowledge of computer applications to include word processing, spreadsheets,and/or database. Ability to work wellwith diverse populations, strong organizational skills, and good oral andwritten communication skills. Ability totravel with overnight stays. Basiccomputer skills. Strong interpersonalskills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master'sDegree preferred.56 Monthly (exempt): -Minimum - $ 28537.56 Midpoint - $ 39956.76
